Neurodiversity (Neurodivergence) -Diagnosed & Undiagnosed

I specialise in therapy with neurodiverse people (ADHD, Autism, AuDHD, dyspraxia, dyslexia, dyscalculia, Tourette's Syndrome, OCD, and other sensory-motor difficulties). I understand from personal experience how difficult it can be to find a way to live authentically as a neurodiverse person. Whatever your reasons for seeking therapy are, I am able to work with these and your unique neurodiverse type within your life context. I am also very aware of various sensory needs you might have, where I encourage you to express those so I can meet them to my best ability. This can help you get more out of therapy and encourage you to be yourself. I personally use neurodiversity rather than 'neurodivergence' in my practice to accentuate how it is a way of being rather than a difference from a 'norm'. Within this perspective, I work with you to explore your neurodiverse type and related experiences and challenges. I work with you according to your unique needs and with themes that are relevant to your life and reasons for seeking therapy. Some of the themes I can help you with are: academic and professional challenges, difficulties with relating/navigating relationships/intimacy issues, coping strategies, substance use,  masking/unmasking, identity, mental and physical health struggles, family issues, etc. My goal is to help you find an authentic expression, achieve your goals in life, and experience higher mental and physical wellbeing.

Young People & Young Adults

If you are struggling with any life area and feel like you need support as a young person (15+), I can help you navigate these difficulties. I've worked with young people as a college counsellor, and have experience supporting young people through academic and personal challenges.

Students/ Mature Students/ People in Education with Related Challenges

I've worked with a range of people in education, and use my professional and personal experiences to help you. If you are struggling with any aspect of being a student, I might be able to help. This may include academic challenges, figuring out your professional and life goals, and identity exploration. Some of the more common themes for younger students might be struggling with your self-esteem or finding a social group that you feel connected to. There could be arising issues with mental or physical health, or you might be discovering independence, leaving parental home and finding new ways of relating to your family. There are also specific life transitions and changes surrounding the typical student years, which I have experience working with. Mature students often struggle with managing work and study, mental and physical health, and family commitments. There are also particular identity changes and necessary adjustments needed to embark into professional life post-study when you're older than your peers. These are just some examples, and my work and experience are not limited to these. Supporting people in education is a great passion of mine as I also got support helping me in my education journey. This is why I offer concession rates to students. Please enquire through the contact form if you are interested in these.

Complex Health

I offer therapy focused on navigating complex health, including managing various mental and physical health difficulties and conditions, and illness. Some of the themes this includes are managing chronic illness, long-term physical illness, mental health conditions, stress, burnout, and general issues with wellbeing. My aim is to help you find a way to live meaningfully. This is going to look differently for each person and what you want for your life. I can help you improve your self-esteem, learn wellbeing and self-care practices that work for you, help with illness self-management and ways of coping, and with navigating potential personal relationships and professional challenges due to your health. My approach is holistic and non-medical, backed up with my vast experience in health and social care and health psychology training alongside therapy experience with clients with a range of health issues. My work encourages you to explore your identity and how it might have changed due to your health concerns in an authentic way. My hope is this will help you feel like yourself, positively affecting your general health and wellbeing.

Occupational Health

I work with people who are experiencing occupational health related issues, i.e., issues at work affecting your health and wellbeing, and people navigating career changes and transitions. This may look like work-related stress, anxiety, chronic pain, and other issues with health, as well as figuring out what you want to change in your career and how these changes impact other life areas. Within this I can help you navigate how to resolve these issues, how to manage the health aspects so you achieve higher wellbeing, and how to manage workplace conflict and communications with colleagues, managers, and/or employees, so that you have your work needs met. I can also help with workplace bullying or other forms of issues at work. Finally, I work with navigating career changes. From my therapist work with various employees through workplace referrals, I understand how occupational and career challenges can affect all areas of life, especially family and home life. I can help you navigate these issues, working holistically with your unique situation.
